Anyone can use the alert system, however, they are typically used by seniors living independently in their own homes, individuals with physical limitations, patients recovering from hospital stays and people going through rehabilitation.
Our Medical Alert Systems are recognized as the industry leader and are recommended by doctors, hospitals, home health care providers, agencies on aging, geriatric care managers, social workers and patients across the country. For almost 40 years, our monitoring facility has been providing security and peace of mind to seniors and their families with fast, compassionate care from specially trained emergency medical personnel.
In the event of a medical emergency, accident, fire, burglary, etc.. the medical alert system provides you and your family members with 24/7 emergency medical monitoring. The alert system connects you to emergency medical help, as well as family and friends at the touch of a button.
Are Your Loved Ones at Risk?
Every year there are thousands of seniors that have serious accidents in their own homes. When help is slow to arrive, many minor injuries become serious and if left unattended, can become life threatening. Early intervention can reduce the damage caused by many falls, heart attack, stroke and other household injuries.
Personal Emergency Response System
A Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) is comprised of three components:
- A small medical alert button that is usually worn as a pendant around the neck but can also be worn on the wrist like a watch or clipped to the waist like a pager or cell phone.
- A medical alert console that functions as a two-way speaker phone and uses your existing land-based telephone line.
- A monitoring center that’s responds 24/7 when the button is pressed.
A PERS systems is ideal for your older or disabled friends and family members. They can use the system in the event of injury, medical emergency, illness, accident, fire, burglary, or any other event where they need assistance. If you are a caregiver or just worried about someone close to you, considering a PERS system can give you peace of mind knowing that your loved one is being watched 24/7 by medically trained dispatchers that can diagnose the emergency and get help to them right away. It also gives your loved one additional independence, safety and security.
It does not matter the type of emergency your loved one has, they could fall, have a seizure, stroke, heart attack, etc. help is just a push of a button away. When activated, the medical alert console will automatically call the monitoring center. All of your loved one's medical location, history and contact list is available to the dispatcher. The Dispatcher will communicate with the patient and diagnose the situation. Some situations call for a simple call to a contact on the patients notification list. If for any reason the dispatcher cannot communicate with the patient, EMS is dispatched and contact is made with the members of the patients call list. If the dispatcher can communicate with the patient and it is determined help is needed, the dispatcher will sent EMS, fire, police, or rescue, whatever is needed to aid your loved one in times of crisis.
Emergency Medical Dispatchers Provide Compassionate Care
More than 250,000 emergency and non emergency calls for help come into our monitoring centers every month. Our Monitoring Centers are staffed with certified emergency medical dispatchers. Not only do they provide compassionate care for you and your loved ones, they can also provide life support instructions that can help someone provide CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, control bleeding, open an airway, or deliver a baby.
When the button is pressed, the Monitoring Center jumps into action. An instant text and email can be sent out to everyone on your call list alerting them of a situation. Within just a few seconds an Emergency Medical Dispatcher is on the line with you and sends the appropriate help.
